All my great excuses!!!

What's the best excuse you can think of?

We read a poem and were inspired to write some great excuses of our own!

Primary Leap Ltd. 2012 www.primaryleap.co.uk- Primary Resources

I started on my homework
but my pen ran out of ink.
My hamster ate my homework.
My computer's on the blink.
I accidentally dropped it
in the soup my mum was cooking.
My brother flushed it down the toilet
when I wasn't looking.
My mother ran my homework
through the washer and the dryer.
An airplane crashed into our house.
My homework caught on fire.
Tornadoes blew my notes away.
Volcanoes struck our town.
My notes were taken hostage
by an evil killer clown.
Some aliens abducted me.
I had a shark attack.
A pirate swiped my homework
and refused to give it back.
I worked on these excuses
so darned long my teacher said,
"I think you'll find it's easier
to do the work instead."

Sorry Miss. I didn't do my homework today. If you ask me why I didn't do it, it is because if I do my homework, I'll be sad. If I'm sad, I'll watch TV. If I watch TV, I'll eat junk food. If I eat junk food, I'll be fat. If I am fat, I'll have problems with my heart. If I have problems with my heart, I'll die. That's the reason I didn't do my homework.
Thanks for your understanding

All My Great Excuses
Ø I had done my homework, but in the afternoon a little girl came into my room and started drawing on my homework.
Ø My brother has an elephant for a pet, and yesterday he fed his pet using my notes.
Ø Some animals escaped from the zoo and broke into my house. I tried to stop them, but a pelican flew into my flat and ate many things: my books, my notes, my homework…
Ø If I had done my homework, I wouldn’t have read my novel and if I hadn’t read my novel, I would have read it at night and if I had done this, I would be too tired and I don’t think that you want this…
Ø Yesterday I went to buy boots, because the weather is cold now. I don’t think that I will catch a cold if I don’t do my homework but I’m sure that I will, if I’m not wearing warm clothes and boots.
Ø When I started doing my homework, I received a message from my aunt saying: “Hi Dimitra! I have just arrived in beautiful Greece again! Greece is much better than New Zealand. Please come with your parents to the airport because I don’t have euro to pay for the taxi”.
